“But you return to me at night just when I think I may have fallen asleep, your face is up against mine and I’m too terrified to speak.” —Peter Silberman, The Antlers

“In a nightmare I am falling from the ceiling into bed beside you. You’re asleep I’m screaming, shoving you to try and wake you up. And like before you’ve got no interest in the life you live when you’re awake. Your dreams still follow story lines like fictions you would make. So I lie against your back until we’re both back in the hospital, but now it’s not a cancer ward, we’re sleeping in the morgue.” —I had a nightmare last night. I guess nightmare isn’t the correct term to use though. It would have been a good dream if the context were a little different when I awoke from it.

Open Mic Nights

Recently, I’ve come to hate the fact that I have done very little with my music. I’ve decided that part of my life needs to change. I have the ability to change it, so I will do all in my power to make sure I start making my music more prominent in my like — no more strictly sitting in my room and playing; I need to get out there. I have been actively trying to better my musicianship by forcing myself to learn songs I love on acoustic guitar and being able to sing them while I play. I’ve gotten a few almost 100% down, and I hope to record myself playing at least one of them. A plan I just came up with is that I should start playing coffee houses, bars, open mic nights, you name it, just to get more practice/experience under my belt. I will do all in my power to make sure I don’t let this goal of mine fizzle away. Here’s a short list of songs I hope to have fully down in the next two months so I can work on getting myself out there:

“Epilogue” - The Antlers (Almost got it down, and hoping to record it Sunday)

“Hello, I’m In Delaware” - Dallas Green City and Colour (almost 100% as well)

“Paper Shoes” - Incubus (needs work)

“Light and the Glass” - Coheed and Cambria (needs a lot of work)

If any one has any suggestions or requests of songs I should learn and sing, I’d be happy to give it a go….cause so many people read this blog, right?

WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

Shut up tumblrbot. I know your plot to over throw humanity. I saw Terminator 2.

Hello everyone

Just finished getting a basic set up on my new tumblr machine. FUN GAME: Try to find your favorite Pokemon in my background image! Also for those of you who don’t know I’m Karl Germ. The reason I made this is because I have friends who use it regularly and I want to be popular so I adhered to peer pressure and made one for myself. Hopefully I’ll have some interesting shit to say…probably not but who knows, might be good for a laugh/some time killing. Fair warning…I bet a majority of my posts will be talking about music. But we’ll see. I’m still very new to this, so if anyone has any pro-tips, I’d be happy to hear them.

Epilogue The Antlers

tumblr told me to upload a song that’s been stuck in my head. While I’ve had many stuck in my head recently, this one I’ve listened to probably averaging 30 times the past 48 hours. I learned how to play it and I’m hoping to record my cover of it soon. I know of this song thanks to my good friend Matt Ryan. He’s so handsome. I’ll probably have some more interesting posts soon. Just wanted to get my tumblr legs first….or I just wanted to get my tumblr feet wet first. Right on!
