It’s great you’re technically supporting the gays and all but honestly you’re missing the fucking point. Marriage is supposed to be about spending the rest of your life with the person you love and can’t live without. These poor people are being ostracized in a world where the majority says their love is evil or wrong or unnatural because of a fucking shittily written thousand year old book says so, and we as straight society do nothing to change that because it doesn’t really personally effect us. Like two people being in love will effect us personally if we allow them to acknowledge it legally. Then the best support you can give them is “let them be miserable like the rest of us?” They are already miserable because the world isn’t allowing them to actually show their love. Apparently it makes more sense to let two people get married because they are male and female, even if it inevitably ends in divorce, than to let two men or two women marry each other because they are actually in love. God forbid there’s more love in the world. Like, Kim Kardashian can get married and then divorced in 72 days but gays can’t marry people they love? Fuck that noise. If you’re going to be a straight ally, don’t be so damn homophobic about it. Just because you support the gays in their struggle for equality doesn’t make you gay yourself.
